Board Certified in Internal Medicine

Dr. Mistry earned his Medical Degree from the University of Madras, India and completed his Residency in Medicine from the University of Virginia. He also earned a Master of Science Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and is a Certified Athletic Trainer.

He comes to Grand Junction after working at the University of Virginia, where he has served as the  Primary Care Team Physician, Co-Medical Director for the Department of Athletics, and Associate Professor for the University since 2002 . Currently, he is a Consultant Team Physician for USA Swim Team and has traveled to numerous international competitions. He worked with USA Soccer and successfully completed a "physician internship" with the United States Olympic Committee.

He is published in various scientific journals and has been a guest speaker at numerous sports medicine conferences nationwide. His areas of interest include preventive and therapeutic primary care sports medicine, pre-participation cardiovascular screening for athletes, and community educational programs to enhance health and wellness.

  He is an avid chef, enjoys spending time with his family traveling the world, and exploring Colorado.
