About Our Doctors
Mitchell T. Copeland, DODr. Mitchell T. Copeland began his career in the grand valley as a Fruita Monument high school student. He then obtained his Bachelors of Science at Colorado State. Next he moved to the Midwest for Medical School, Internship and Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Finally he completed a year fellowship at Michigan State University to sub-specialize in Arthroscopy, Sports Medicine and Joint Reconstruction. After returning to Grand Junction in 1999, Dr. Mitch Copeland became a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon. Since then Dr. Copeland has served as a team physician for Mesa State College and founded the Western Colorado Sports Medicine Foundation. He is also active in treating athletes from the Glacier Ice Arena and Grand Junction Gymnastics Academy. Specific interests include treating athletes and restoring active lifestyles with expertise in Surgical Treatment of Knee and Shoulder Pathology. Dr. Copeland loves to spend as much time as possible with his family, especially his daughters Kara and Kaci who are competitive gymnast and equestrians. He enjoys fly fishing, archery hunting and the Colorado outdoors. |
