At Western Orthopedics & Sports Medicine we believe rehabilitation plays an essential part in recovery for patients suffering a wide variety of related conditions.

In March of 2006 we opened a physical therapy department to allow our physicians, therapists, and patients to work together as a team to achieve the b est possible treatment outcomes. The convenience of the physical therapy department being located directly on sight allows for immediate and effective communication between the patient, physical therapist, and physician. Patients get satisfaction from knowing their therapist and physician are in direct contact at all times. This working relationship allows for the best care possible.

Common forms of physical therapy include: therapeutic exercise; neuromuscular re-education; manual therapy such as mobilization, manipulation, and stretching; physical and mechanical means such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and traction; and functional training in self-care and home management.

Plans are highly individualized. Your physician's clinical evaluation will dictate the type of physical therapy most likely to improve your condition. Therapy can be used pre-surgery, post surgery and in some cases in place of surgery. Depending upon your condition, your therapy may postpone or eliminate the need for surgery. In either case, you will play a major role in your recovery.
